Dec. 3, 2019 -- Madison Davis involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations while attending Wichita State. She took advantage of the different hands-on learning experiences and internships offered, which helped her grasp the concepts being taught. In January, she plans on attending graduate school and work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Dec. 2, 2019 -- Gabrielle Owens surrounded herself with strong mentors she could look to when she doubted herself at Wichita State. She also took advantage of the opportunities offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to successfully complete her master’s degree.

Nov. 20, 2019 -- Martin Ratcliffe, adjunct professor in the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College, teaches students that space and the people who study it aren’t all that far away.

Sept. 20, 2019 -- The Wichita State University Library Special Collection and University Archives has received a large gift of scientific documents and artifacts from accomplished meteorologist Mike Smith.

Aug. 12, 2019 -- Wichita State University has set a new record for research and development awards, with a total of $136 million in fiscal year 2019, which ended June 30, topping last year’s record-breaking total of $104 million.

July 10, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research received a three-year $33 million contract from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center for a project focused on emerging materials for high-speed missile applications.

July 2, 2019 -- Wichita State University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville have entered into a partnership to mutually strengthen capabilities in fixed-wing commercial, civil and rotary wing military aircraft research and development in order to more effectively serve the U.S. Army.

July 2, 2019 -- A recent grant will allow Wichita State’s National Institute for Aviation Research to speed up the manufacturing process for aerospace and defense industries.

June 26, 2019 -- A NASA-funded Wichita State University research project will seek to understand how the human brain responds to gravity while in space.

May 31, 2019 -- Coleen Pugh, a professor of Polymer Science at the University of Akron (Ohio), has been named the new dean of the Wichita State University Graduate School and associate vice president for Research and Technology Transfer, effective July 28.
